Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is a wonderful gift that only you can give your baby. Learn proper techniques such as latching on, establishing a good milk supply, knowing if your baby is getting enough milk and proper breast care. Dads are welcome and encouraged to attend. No fee for class.

Childbirth Preparation (Lamaze)

Knowing what to expect during labor and delivery will help you to have a wonderful birth experience. Learn breathing and relaxation techniques that will help both mom and coach. Also learn medical terminology and the process of labor and birth to better understand this exciting event.

Cholesterol & Hypertension

People don’t know when they get high cholesterol. It develops without symptoms over a long time. And you need to have your blood checked to know for sure. BUT, if your cholesterol level is high, YOUR HEALTH IS AT RISK. Learn how it affects your body and how best to manage your high cholesterol. Understand the meaning of Triglycerides, HDL & LDL. A child’s life can be lost in just a few moments. You can learn how to save a life in just one class. It’s vital that all parents and caregivers know how to respond to an emergency and know what action to take. Be prepared to save an infant or child who is choking, unable to breath, and/or does not have a pulse.

Diabetes

There are three main types of diabetes: Type 1 (often affects children, but adults can develop it, too), Type 2 (rising fast in the US) and gestational diabetes (occurs in some pregnant women). Nutrition & Weight Management

This 8-week series will help you understand and deal with the often-confusing subject of proper nutrition. Throughout life, nutritional needs change based upon health issues, age, pregnancy, etc. For many people controlling weight is also a problem. Join us for this very informative series on healthy nutrition and learn what is right for you. A registered dietitian will discuss the following topics and guide you to a healthy eating lifestyle.
